Vertigo treatment depends on the cause. This hub points patients to the right next step instead of sending them in circles.
Positional vertigo: BPPV
If spinning starts when you roll in bed, bend, or look up, BPPV is likely. The main treatment is a repositioning maneuver. See posterior canal BPPV, BBQ roll maneuver, Gufoni maneuver, and Bangalore Maneuver.
Persistent imbalance after inner-ear illness
If dizziness lingers after vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, or a successful maneuver, vestibular rehabilitation therapy helps the brain compensate. See vestibular rehabilitation therapy.
Meniere’s disease
Meniere’s disease often needs dietary changes, medicines, and sometimes procedures. See Meniere’s disease.
When to seek urgent evaluation
Sudden hearing loss, new weakness, severe headache, or continuous vertigo with neurological symptoms should be assessed urgently by an ENT or emergency team.

BPPV — Position-triggered vertigo
BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) causes 80–90% of vertigo episodes. Treatment is mechanical, not pharmaceutical — we move the loose ear crystals back to where they belong.
